Academic Council

Academic Council is a body of eminent academicians and industry experts who are primarily concerned with all the academic affairs of the college, encompassing academic staff, academic planning, instructional issues, students, co-curricular activities, residence halls and discipline and so on. It is the responsibility of Academic Council to endeavor and ensure the best practices are implemented and standards are maintained. The Academic council will be functional for two consecutive academic years.

The Academic Council takes up the following roles for the academic development of the institute:

• To specify the criteria and process for admission to courses or programs of study offered by the institute
• To recommend to the Governing Council for creation of teaching and other academic posts, determination of the number and emoluments of such posts and defining the duties and conditions of service of teachers and other academic posts
• To recommend to the Governing Council for the commencement of new programs and courses of study
• To approve teaching learning methods or any other related academic issues carried by the institute
• To specify the broad academic content of programs and courses of study and to undertake modifications therein;
• To specify the academic calendar and approve grant of degrees, diplomas and other academic distinctions or titles;
• To exercise such other powers and discharge such other functions as may be assigned to it, by Statutes or by the Governing Council

Aurora’s Design Academy is fortunate to have some of the leading names in the fields of architecture and planning in India, both in education and the industry, as members of its Academic Council.
