Governing Council
Governing Council is a body of distinguishedpersonnel who are meant to ensure proper functioning of the institution, w.r.t finance, investments, admissions, recruitment, etc. The Governing Council will be functional for three consecutive academic years.
The Governing Council shall be the principal organ of management in the institution. The council isto perform the following roles for the institutional development:
- To manage and regulate the finance, accounts, investments, property and all other administrative affairs of the institute and for that purpose to appoint such agent or agents as it may deem fit.
- To amend and receive payment of fees and other charges.
- To manage and administer the revenues and properties of the institute and to conduct all administrative affairs of the institute not otherwise specifically provided for.
- To create of teaching and other academic posts, determination of the number and emoluments of such posts and defining the duties and conditions of service of teachers and other academic posts as per the recommendation from Academic Council.
- To sanction the commencement of new programs and courses of study.
- To provide for appointment of Visiting Faculties.
- To regulate and enforce discipline among the employees of the institute and to take appropriate disciplinary action, whenever necessary.
- To entertain and adjudicate upon and if thought fit, to readdress any grievances of the employees and students of the institute.
- To appoint auditors for the ensuing year.
- To constitute, for the benefit of the teaching, academic, technical, administrative and other staff, in such manner and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by the Bye-laws, such as provident fund, gratuity as it may be.
- To maintain and manage hostels for the students of the institute.
- The Governing Council shall be the principal executive body of the institute and shall have the powers to take all necessary decisions for the smooth and efficient functioning of the institute.
